Episode 115 - Simply Cooking

Recipe - French Omelet

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon butter for each omelet
  • Fillings may include the following combinations:
  • Grated cheese, salsa, and guacamole
  • Sautéed apples slices and Brie cheese
  • Mushrooms, bacon and grated cheese
  • Ham, cheese and tomatoes

LET'S GET STARTED:

  1. For two small omelets, whisk one egg in a bowl.
  2. Melt 1 teaspoon of butter on medium heat in an 8-10 inch skillet.   Tilt pan to coat as butter melts.
  3. Pour 1/2 of beaten egg into the pan, and swirl it around to cover the pan. It will cook quickly.
  4. Add your desired filling combination to the center of the omelet.
  5. Remove omelet by rolling up the edge with a fork. Run fork under one side of omelet and fold.   Continue rolling it up and out of the pan onto a serving plate.
