Episode 124 - Daily Routines
Segment #4 - Crayons and Rocks
Activity - Coloring Book On a T-Shirt
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Plain, white, 100 percent cotton T-shirt
- Paper and pencil
- Waxed paper or cardboard
- Black fabric paint in squeeze bottles
- Washable crayons
LET'S GET STARTED:
Have your child draw a self-portrait on a sheet of paper. Lay the T-shirt flat on the table, front side up.
Slide the artwork inside the shirt so that you see the outline of the drawing through the fabric. Use a pencil to lightly trace the drawing onto the shirt. Remove artwork.
Place a piece of waxed paper or cardboard between the two layers of the shirt to protect the back from any paint that might soak through. Squeeze paint on the shirt, following the pencil outline. Let dry.
Your child will now be able to color the drawing using washable crayons. When the shirt is laundered, the crayon should disappear and your child can color it again in a different way for a different wardrobe!
