Episode 126 - Time Out for Time
Segment #1 - Telling Time
Activity - CD Clock
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Old CD
- Poster board or construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Parts from inside an old transistor radio or computer
- Quartz battery-operated clock mechanism (available at craft stores)
LET'S GET STARTED:
Cover the label of an old CD with a piece of poster board or construction paper cut to size. Glue in place.
On the front of the CD arrange parts from the inside of an old transistor radio or old computer to create the face of a clock. Different shapes and sizes can represent the numbers 1 to 12. Choose a specific shape for the hours of 3,6,9 and 12. Smaller parts in various colors can be arranged evenly between them to complete the face. Glue them in place with strong nontoxic glue.
Insert the clock mechanism through the center hole of the CD.
Note: Small parts may pose a choking hazard to children 4 and under. OTHER ACTIVITIES FROM THIS EPISODE:
