Episode 103 - Baby in the House
Segment #1 - Decorating from Baby to Toddler
Activity - Decorate a Lampshade

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Fabric lampshade
  • Tissue paper
  • Household white glue diluted with a few drops of water
  • Paintbrush

LET'S GET STARTED:

  1. Tear tissue paper into pieces. You can cut them into recognizable shapes if you want. Cookie cutters make good patterns.
  2. Paint a section on the outside of the lampshade with the glue/ water mixture and attach tissue paper pieces, overlapping them as you go. Paint a little of the glue/water mixture over the top of the tissue paper as well. Cover the entire outside of the lampshade this way.
  3. Let dry.
  4. Paint a lamp base to coordinate with your shade.
  5. In a few years if you decide to change your room decor, simply find another fabric lampshade and repeat the process with a new look!
